Wisdom From The World:

“Between stimulus and response there is space. In that space is the power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Viktor E. Frankle

“Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.” – John F. Kennedy

“Free speech carries with it the freedom to listen.” – Warren E. Burger

“There are two freedom- the false, where a man is free to do what he likes; the true, where he is free to do what he ought.” – Charles Kingsley

“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” -Nelson Mandela

“No one is more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.” – Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Wisdom Of The Word:

“Mark a life of discipline and live wisely; don’t squander your precious life.” – Proverbs 8: 32,33 (The Message)

“Then Jesus turned towards the Jews who claimed to believe in Him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.”
Surprised they said, “But we’re descendants of Abraham. We’ve never been slaves to anyone. How can you say the truth will free you?”
Jesus said, “I tell you most solemnly that anyone who chooses a life of sin is trapped in a dead-end life and is, in fact, a slave. A slave is a transient, who can’t come and go at will. The Son, though has an established position, the run of the house. So, if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through.” – John 8: 31-36 (The Message)

Keep Me Real, Lord!

Dear Lord, thank you for the freedoms that I enjoy as a result of living in the USA. Help me to live in gratitude for those freedoms and to use them to enrich the lives of those around me, including those in my own family.

Love must have freedom to be love. Thank you for those who love me and who I love. Help me to welcome their perspectives, their differences and their choices. May I be respectful even when those around me have made choices with which I don’t agree. Your heart breaks because of the choices that I have made in my freedom. Help me to grant others the freedom to learn their own life lessons. Keep me aware of when I choose control over freedom.
