Marriage Meditation #11

meditating on marriage

Wisdom From the World

We have to thank Mother Teresa. We adopted the form and style of a famous quote of hers and applied it to marriage. It demonstrates the attitude of a Conscious Lover. Last week in the Marriage Meditation  section of our website we presented the first half of her quote.

If you are committed to personal growth, your LifeMate may make fun of you; Grow anyway.

If you are honest and direct, your LifeMate may get angry and distance from you; be honest and direct anyway!

If you address a problem, your LifeMate may accuse you of not caring; Address the problem anyway.

If you give your LifeMate freedom, they could misuse it;

Give them freedom anyway!

The relationship you spent years building, your LifeMate could destroy overnight; Build anyway!

The good you do today, your LifeMate may forget tomorrow;

Do good anyway.

Give your LifeMate your best anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;

It was never between you and your LifeMate anyway!

Wisdom From the Word

So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.” Colossians 3:12-14 (The Message)

Keep Me Real, Lord!

“Lord, I want to be well dressed in the wardrobe you have picked out for me. Regardless of my partner’s choices, help me to choose compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline, forgiveness and love. Help me not to seek to be the most important, but rather to be the most loving.”
