What Does The Father’s Love Look Like?

Father's Love

Wisdom From The World

The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us. – C. S. Lewis

God loves you more in a moment than anyone could in a lifetime. – Anonymous

No matter what storms you face, you need to know that God loves you. He has not abandoned you. – Franklin Graham

The cross redefines God as one who was willing to relinquish power for the sake of love. Power, no matter how well intentioned, tends to cause suffering. Love, being vulnerable absorbs it. In a point of convergence on a hill called Calvary, God renounced the one for the sake of the other. – Philip Yancey

Wisdom From The Word

“None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” – Romans 8:37-39 (The Message)

“Long before He laid down the earth’s foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love.” – Ephesians 1: 4,5 (The Message)

“So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.” – Philippians 1:9-11 (The Message)

Keep Me Real Lord!

Dear Lord, teach me to love as you love. Help me parent in such a way that my children have to earn things but that they never have to earn my love. Teach me to view my mate as you see them. I am totally dependent on you. Thank you for hearing my prayer.
