We Need Each Other for Life To Work

Wisdom From The World:

Sometimes we are so worn out and tired that just a little love from some kind soul is just enough to renew us and let us keep going for a little while longer. Maybe you could be that loving soul for someone in need today. – lifelovequotesandsayings.com

As I grow older I pay less attention to what men say, I just watch what they do. – Andrew Carnegie

Hard times will always reveal your true friends. – Unknown

The most memorable people in life will be the ones who loved you when you weren’t very lovable. – Unknown

TEAM= Together Everyone Accomplishes Miracles. – Mark Victor Hansen

Suffering is like mud, compassion is like the lotus, and you need the mud to grow the lotus. – Chade-Meng Tan

How we need that security. How we need another soul to cling to, another body to keep us warm. To rest and trust; to give your soul in confidence: I need this- I need someone to pour myself into. – Sylvia Plath

The greatest dis-ease facing humanity right now is our profound and painful sense of disconnection. We feel disconnected from God, certainly, but also from ourselves (our bodies), from each other, and from our world. Our sense of this fourfold isolation is plunging our species into increasingly destructive behavior and much mental illness…

Our sense of disconnection is only an illusion. Nothing human can stop the flow of divine love; we cannot undo the eternal pattern even by our worst sin. God is always winning and God’s love will always win. Love does not lose nor does God lose. Nothing can stop the relentless outpouring force that is the divine dance. – Richard Rohr

Wisdom From The Word:

A Love That Will Grow

Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

It’s not at all fanciful for me to think this way about you. My prayers and hopes have deep roots in reality. You have, after all, stuck with me all the way from the time I was thrown in jail, put on trial, and came out of it in one piece. All along you have experienced with me the most generous help from God. He knows how much I love and miss you these days. Sometimes I think I feel as strongly about you as Christ does. So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God…

If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.” – Philippians 1:3-11; 2:1-4 (The Message)

Keep Me Real Lord!

Lord you have in your infinite love and wisdom had me walk a path that I would not have chosen. Thank you for the lessons I am learning along the way. Thank you for your unending, powerful, compassionate love that becomes a quiet reality in the darkness.

Thank you for family and friends who have surrounded us with practical helps, prayers, and reminders that we are not alone.

Thank you for those who have walked the path of suffering ahead of us who have not let that suffering make them bitter or turn them into victims. Thank you for the ones who have exemplified courage, forgiveness and strength. They have demonstrated to me that love can win out over fear.

Help me to not only live that before my mate, help me to make that real in every aspect of my life, my relationships and my work. Thank you Lord for hearing and answering my prayer.

Amen
